This week was historic for Facebook, and not in a good way. For the first time in the company’s meteoric history there was a decline in North American Daily Active Users. DAU in the US and Canada dropped by 700,000 in the last quarter as Facebook retools its algorithm to make home feeds less…well…swampy.
The question is: is this an anomaly, or the first sign of a long term trend? Remember, the service has only been around for 13 years, and only been widely available for 10 of those.
