Happy Saturday, y'all! This week we’ve got the sad story of Stan Lee, an update on the big Facebook hack (including how to check if your account was affected), and beautiful story about a guy who was reunited with his dog after it went missing for three years.
I’ve written about the Terrafugia flying car before, but now they’re going on sale in America next year. The Transition isn’t so much a car you can fly as it is a plane you can drive. Both its price point ($400,000) and the fact you need a pilot’s license to operate it will keep it from going mainstream. Still, it’s a cool idea and I’m hoping to see one up close in the next year or so.
Wow, they did a REALLY nice job on this chart. I’ll bet you’ll remember these numbers after seeing this visualization. The disparity in economic production between the global North and South is staggering.
This is nothing short of tragic. It’s hard to imagine that arguably the greatest pop culture creative genius of the 20th century is spending the last years of his life like this. Stan Lee is the face of elder abuse.
I was reading through old issues of Daveslist and I’m pretty sure I’ve never done anything on the Georgia Guidestones. Let’s fix that today.
I like to think that the mastermind behind what is commonly referred to as “America’s Stonehenge” is actually a human from the future who traveled back in time not to warn us of our impending doom (because they knew we wouldn’t listen) but to guide the survivors in reestablishing civilization. Maybe. Probably.
The numbers are getting stark, y'all. Not only is the middle class in America disappearing, those who remain are heading for a financial cliff in retirement. The numbers I’m seeing for health care costs alone are unbelievable (doubling every five years, roughly). Protect yourselves, y'all.
This is a testament to the power of a good idea. (I can’t believe I just described Fortnite as a “good idea”.) The enormously popular battle royale arena shooter has set the standard for cross-platform gameplay and there’s no going back now.
I’m always amazed at how tuned into nature animals are. This was a cool experiment run with elementary school kids to see what bees do during a total solar eclipse. The results did not disappoint.
This is here just to bring a smile to your face. Imagine having lost your dog three years ago and then finding him on the street. This reunion is probably the best thing you’ll see today.
